High Holidays

We are pleased that Cantor Ellen Band will be returning to lead services with Rabbi Tracy Nathan.  The High Holidays come early in September this year.  Selichot, the service to open the High Holiday season, is Saturday September 3. Join us for a special program presented by Rabbi Nathan at 8:45 pm, refreshments, and the Selichot service which will end around midnight.

Erev Rosh Hashanah is Wednesday, September 8, continuing Thursday and Friday, September 9 and 10.  Kol Nidre is on Friday, September 17, and Yom Kippur day services are on Saturday, September 18. For the first time in decades, we will be using a new prayer book, Mahzor Lev Shalem, published this year by the Rabbinical Assembly, at our services.

If you would like to participate in our High Holiday services by volunteering for an aliyah, ark opening, English prayer, or other honor, please contact Andrea in the Temple office by August 31, so that we may try to accommodate your request.  If you will need babysitting for your children or grandchildren while you are at services, please contact Andrea so we can notify you of arrangements.

We look forward to a new year and several new beginnings this fall at Temple Beth Israel, and we welcome your participation.
