The Social Justice Committee at Temple Beth Israel (TBI) launched in October 2017.

After consulting a secular definition of social justice as well as several Jewish sources, the committee agreed that social justice means working for peace, freedom and/or justice for all people. While we will keep the Jewish community in mind, TBI also looks to serve the larger world with our social justice activities. We are dedicated to disseminating information and providing opportunities for action related to social justice issues affecting the synagogue and its surrounding communities.

Anyone interested in receiving TBI’s monthly e-bulletin, Social Justice Update: Opportunities for Action, and organizations wishing to submit information for inclusion in the publication, can reach the committee at It comes out in the first week of each month.

Check out our  Social Justice News page for the latest social justice information and opportunities for action.
