Welcome to Temple Beth Israel.
We are a vibrant, diverse, inclusive, egalitarian and close-knit congregation. We welcome you to join us for services held every Shabbat morning and Yom Tov, as well as morning minyan on Mondays and Thursdays. We also worship together on Friday nights, twice monthly.
Our membership includes about 100 households from Waltham and the surrounding area. Many of our members are deeply rooted in the community–they, their parents, and grandparents grew up here–and others are newer to the Waltham area. Students from Brandeis or Bentley also join us for services and projects. We are a participatory congregation, with members taking various roles in religious services, lay leadership and other volunteer roles. We like to spend time together, gathering for a light lunch after every Shabbat morning service and for monthly Friday dinners, socializing, and studying with the rabbi.
